MINISTERY ASSISTANT

Position Status: Part-Time
Position Summary:
The Ministry Assistant role is designed to equip appropriately qualified future leaders for ministry in the local church while serving at First Baptist McAlester.
Qualifications:
A Christian who is striving to have sound doctrine and personal holiness
Professes an inward calling and passion for vocational ministry.
Affirms the mission & doctrinal statement of First Baptist (Baptist Faith & Message 2000)
General Job Responsibilities:
Provide general administrative & ministry support to the Ministry Staff
Execute assigned leadership responsibilities for a specific area of ministry
Faithful participation in public church gatherings & small group meetings
Faithful participation in meetings, such as Staff Meetings & Family Business Meetings.
MINISTRY ASSISTANT EXPECTATIONS AND OVERVIEW
As part of First Baptist's leadership, you will gain ministry experience by serving in your particular area of interest and other areas of the church’s ministries, including children/youth, community outreach, evangelism, teaching, ministry training, and administration.
Ministry Assistants (MA) will be considered part-time employees of the church.
MA’s will take a self-assessment to help clarify strengths and growth opportunities.
MA’s will participate in workshops, trainings, and planned leadership events.
MA’s will meet weekly with one of the pastors for review, planning, and encouragement.
MA’s will be accountable for making ministry contacts every day to minister to individuals and families, sharing the gospel, and connecting them to First Baptist's life and ministry.
MA’s will join a small group to help assist or start a new small group.
MA’s are required to spend time in the community sharing the hope of Christ.
MA’s are required to participate and help in weekly worship gatherings and First Baptist ministry activities.
